ON THE HANDLING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION OF CUSTOMERS

Based on the Law Concerning the Protection of Personal Information and the basic policy of the Company on the protection of personal privacy, the Company has been handling the personal information that the customer may provide to the Company in the following ways and has been striving to protect such information.

(1)  Purpose of use of information provided by customers

When a customer uses the Company’s products and services, the Company may receive personal information from the customer such as the customer’s name, age, date of birth, telephone and fax numbers, email address, address, place of employment, and ID number. This information is needed when the Company provides the desired products and services, and the Company may receive other types of information for the same purpose. In any event, beyond the necessary items to the minimum extent, the customers themselves may choose the information they provide to the company, and the Company leaves it up to the customers’ own judgment as to whether or not to refuse to offer their personal information. In addition, the Company uses customer personal information for market analyses to provide better travel product development in the future, and for the purpose of giving guidance to customers on products and services of the Company and of other companies in linkage with the Company, and also for requesting the opinions and impressions of customers after participation in travel, etc.
Please understand that, depending on the contents of the customer personal information that a customer has chosen not to provide to the Company, there are cases where the Company may be unable to offer products and services.

(2) Management of the information provided

To prevent improper access, loss, destruction, alteration, divulgement, etc. of the personal information provided to the Company, the Company will take the appropriate security measures to a reasonable extent. In addition, the Company will not alter the contents of personal information in its possession without the customer’s permission. In addition, these policies apply to the cases where the Company entrusts external companies to process information provided by customers.

(3) In case of disclosure of personal information to third parties

When judged necessary for offering products and services to the customer, personal information provided by a customer such as the customer’s name, age, date of birth, telephone and fax numbers, email address, address, place of employment, ID number, etc. is disclosed to companies that have executed non-disclosure contracts (service outsourcing companies such as airline companies and local booking companies) with the Company in advance. However, except in the following cases, in principle, the Company does not disclose to third parties the personal information provided by customers. Concerning exceptional instances, such as the following items 2 and 3, the Company discloses the personal information under the responsibility of its personal information protection manager:

* When the customer agrees to the disclosure of personal information;
* When disclosure is demanded under laws and ordinances;
* When necessitated in the interest of the protection of the life, health, assets, etc., of the individual or the public;
* In the case of disclosure in forms wherein it is impossible to distinguish individuals, such as in the form of statistical data, etc.

(4) Inquiries about personal information

When an individual requests to do such things as view, correct, and halt the use of his or her personal information, the Company will verify the person’s identity, handle the contents of the request within a reasonable period, and inform the individual of the results.Furthermore, please understand that in cases of alteration or deletion of personal information upon request, there are cases wherein the Company may be unable to offer products and services.
